Burroughs contributes “Fun and Games, What?” (4pp.).

This copy has been inscribed at his contribution by Allen Ginsberg “For Gunter Grass”, along with a subsequent note to him: “You can read it easier on this page Gunter - Allen” (Ginsberg’s poem, “I Am Victim of Telephone”, appears in holograph facsimile and again in typescript on the following page).

It seems likely that Ginsberg’s presentation of the magazine to Grass took place at Princeton in late April 1966, where both had been invited to speak, the former at a weekend series of events called “What’s Happening: The Arts 1966” (attended by Tom Wolfe, Susan Sontag, Milton Babbitt, and others), the latter as a member of Gruppe 47, a group of prominent West German writers and critics invited by the university’s German Department. The American and German writers participated together in a conference titled “The Writer in the Affluent Society” on Monday April 25.
