The Burroughs File.
SF: City Lights, 1984. First edition. Black cloth. 228pp.
SIGNED and inscribed by Burroughs on the half-title page: “For Nelson Lyon William S. Burroughs May 16, 1996”.
Lyon was a writer, actor, photographer and film director who became known as the last person to see John Belushi alive. Later, he co-produced Burroughs’ album “Dead City Radio” (1990). He also collected Burroughs’ publications, and got his complete set of My Own Mag multi-signed by him, something of a unique coup.
The book includes the complete texts from “The White Subway”, “The Retreat Diaries”, and “Cobblestone Gardens”, along with numerous other contributions to small magazines, and prints facsimile pages from Burroughs’ cut-up scrapbooks, “The Book of Hours”, “John Brady’s Book” and “The Old Farmer’s Almanac”.
Introductory essays by James Grauerholz, Paul Bowles and Alan Ansen.
Slight tanning to pages, o/w Fine in dw. One of only 300 clothbound copies.
