The first volume prints Kelly’s series of colourful abstracts from 1951 intended for a book which was never published. The edition brings the original project to completion, its forty plates corresponding to the original collages, with the addition of a 26pp. booklet titled “An Intense Detachment: Ellsworth Kelly’s Line Form Color” by Harry Cooper, curator of modern art at the Harvard University Art Museums (text in German).
