Produced by Ed Bahlman, founder of 99 Records and the proprietor of the eponymous record shop at 99 MacDougal Street in Greenwich Village.

Branca’s influential debut album, for which he assembled a band featuring four electric guitarists (including Lee Ranaldo, later of Sonic Youth, one of the bands most influenced by Branca), one bassist and one drummer. It comprises five tracks, the two longest of which are “The Spectacular Commodity”, a title inspired by the writings of Guy Debord, and the title track, named in tribute to the works of Olivier Messian and John Coltrane.

Vinyl excellent in original (slightly worn) white paper inner sleeve (contemporary UK price written to top corner); minor wear to lower corners of cover, o/w an unusually well-preserved and original copy of this groundbreaking record.
