i) Three autograph letters signed from Patti Smith’s mother, Beverly Smith, two of them with their original mailing envelopes (postmarked 1976); the third, written on a page from an exercise book, details some of Patti’s key dates (“Patti was 19 when we moved to Mantua. 20 when she went to NY”).

ii) Six original b/w photographs of Patti Smith (each approx. 12.5x9cm.). One of them shows her on her graduation day in 1964, another at Jim Morrison’s grave in Père Lachaise on May 24, 1976, and another pictures her reading from her book, “Seventh Heaven”, at a bookstore, c. 1972.

iii) De l’ame pour l’ame #2-5 (Richland Center, Wisc.: September 1976 - October 1977) and #7 (March 1979). 4to. Side-stapled wrappers, unpaginated (each c. 20pp.), printed rectos only. Photo-illustrated. A broken run of five issues of the fanzine, the official publication of the Patti Smith Fan Club, of which eight numbers were produced by Nanalee Berry and Beverly Smith between 1976 and 1980. Prints photographs, news and information, merch for sale, poems, lyrics and correspondence by Patti Smith, and interviews with her as well as members of the PSG. Honorary members listed include Tom Verlaine, Lisa Robinson and Blue Öyster Cult. Crease to back cover of issue #4, o/w Very Good plus, at least.

iv) An original membership card from the Patti Smith Fan Club, c. 1976, signed by the club’s President, Nanalee Berry. Together with a blank application form for membership.

v) A collection (19 items) of fan club literature and newsletters issued by De l’ame pour l’ame, featuring reprinted poetry broadsides by Patti Smith and early juvenilia, including her poem “Pandora’s Box”, written when she was in 9th grade; an offprint from Rolling Stone printing Dave Marsh’s extended feature on her from January 1976; and three autograph letters signed by club President, Nanalee Berry (1976-77).
