Burroughs recorded at home in Lawrence, Kansas, between December 12-15, 1988, with further recordings made on June 24, 1989. The musical accompaniment from John Cale, Sonic Youth, Donald Fagen, the NBC Symphony Orchestra, Lenny Pickett, Chris Stein and others was added later. “Scandal at the Jungle Hilton” also features Allen Ginsberg.
The first extensive musical accompaniment of Burroughs’ work.
