Real English Tea Made Here.
Liverpool: Audio Research Editions, 2007. Triple CD set (ARECD301), with slipcase.
An anthology of Burroughs’ cut-up tapes, created in London (“It’s an Experiment”, 44 sec.), Tangier and New York (210 Centre Street) during the period 1964-65, containing rare and previously unreleased material of over 3 hours duration.
Includes a 16pp. booklet featuring an introduction by Colin Fallows and a detailed explanatory text by Barry Miles. Illustrated with photographs, some of them previously unpublished.
The title alludes to a passage in “Nova Express”, and the booklet prints Ian Sommerville’s photograph of Burroughs pouring himself a cup of tea in Tangier in 1964, with an adjacent handwritten notice reading “Real English Tea Made Here”.
As new (still shrink-wrapped). 1000 copies pressed.
