Let Me Hang You.
(NY): Khannibalism/Ernest Jenning Record Co., 2016. LP record (KK003/EJRC 122). Third pressing (splattered off-white vinyl), issued in September 2016, two months after the first.
Hype sticker reads (in part): “A collection of depraved genius straight from the godfather of punk’s very own mouth.” Produced by James Grauerholz, Hal Willner, and King Khan (who plays multiple instruments on the record, along with Bill Frisell and others). Gatefold sleeve features artwork by Arish Ahmad Khan (aka King Khan) and Michael Eaton.
The album originates from recordings made sometime during the 90s in which Burroughs recited riffs from “Naked Lunch”, accompanied by Bill Frisell (guitar), Eyvind Kang (violin), and Wayne Horvitz (piano). Subsequently buried by record label executives, the tapes were exhumed years later by Hal Willner, who augmented the line-up with King Khan and M Lamar (Laverne Cox’s twin brother).
As new (still sealed in factory shrinkwrap).
