Announces a joint reading by Allen and Louis Ginsberg and prints the former’s autobiographical précis.
Ginsberg and his father gave their first reading together at the Genealogical Society at 122 East 58th Street on March 31, 1966, organised by the Poetry Society of America, and, despite their differences, gave several more during the following nine or ten years, including one at the ICA in London in August 1967. When Louis attended his son’s Naropa class in 1975, Allen stated: “he’s one of my gurus of poetry in the sense that he first taught me verse and first taught me sound.”
