SIGNED and briefly inscribed by William Burroughs: “To Joe William S. Burroughs” (the inscription appears on the page opposite the photograph of Burroughs standing on his front porch in Lawrence in March 1987 alongside Timothy Leary, who bought the first painting Burroughs ever sold).
Nicely designed catalogue for the show held at Bergamot Station in Santa Monica between July 18-August 31, 1996, presented jointly by the Track 16 Gallery and the Robert Berman Gallery. Includes texts by Leary and Benjamin Weissman, with colour and b/w illustrations of Burroughs’ work, some of them featuring magazine photographs of lemurs.
