White cardstock with William Burroughs’ Duke Street, St. James’s address and telephone number printed in black. 5.2x8.7cm. Burroughs has written out the Athens address of his friend, Alan Ansen, in blue biro to the verso. Contained in a brown manilla envelope (10x23cm.), addressed by Burroughs in black marker pen to “Miles I.T.” (date unknown).
Burroughs had the visiting card printed shortly after moving into his Duke Street flat, a traditional symbol of social status that presumably he felt was in keeping with his new and fashionable neighbourhood.
