An original b/w press photograph of Paul McCartney and Julie Felix at a party in Chelsea held to celebrate the release of her new single, “Saturday Night”, January 21, 1967.
20.3x26cm. Various photo agency labels and ink stamp to verso, along with Barry Miles’s handwritten return address.
One of the printed labels states that the party was held “in her [Julie Felix’s] Kings Road home”, though most references give the location as “a Chelsea art studio”.
Other guests at the party included Spencer Davis, Mickie Most, Klaus Voorman, Michael Caine, and David Frost, whose TV show, “The Frost Report”, featured Felix as a resident performer. Donovan, who wrote the new single, didn’t show up. Instead, he was being given his first sitar lesson by George Harrison who, together with Paul McCartney, had seen him perform at the Royal Albert Hall six days before.
