Gear's merchandise and packaging capitalised on the current fashion for the British flag (a symbol of 'Swinging' London since Kit Lambert's Union Flag jacket of 1964), most famously in their Michael English-designed sunglasses that featured a Union Jack underlay printed across the lenses. Jerry Garcia encouraged fans to tape the Dead's shows, though the quality of the resulting bootlegs was often poor. This one is an exception, with decent sound quality. It was put out by Wizardo, one of the top bootleggers of the day, and was one of the last on its WRMB label, issued shortly before the FBI began its crackdown on bootleggers in 1977. Jerry Hall was discovered by fashion agent Claude Haddad sunbathing on a Saint Tropez beach. She subsequently moved to Paris where she shared an apartment with Grace Jones and Jessica Lange (two of the shots show her posing at a table on the Café de Flore terrace in August 1974). Her modelling career took off when she appeared on the cover of Roxy Music's album 'Siren' in 1975, and further fame and celebrity status followed after she left Bryan.....

Six items contained within a clear plastic bag, gathered at the top by a printed card, featuring: i) black cap, with shaggy blond hair attached to inner rim; ii) pair of black plastic spectacle frames; iii) string of beads; iv) paper flower; v) large yellow and pink "I'm A Hippie' pinback button; vi) small reefer, helpfully identified as "Grass". Button discoloured, flower faded, o/w Very Good.

Original poster featuring Peter Kennard's détournement of John Constable's 'The Hay Wain', incorporating three cruise missiles, and printing the slogan 'No Nuclear Weapons' in bold red lettering. 42x60cm. Originally created for CND and regarded as one of the defining images of the anti-nuclear campaign, Kennard's photomontage was both a response to the stationing of cruise missiles at RAF Greenham Common in Berkshire, and to a Ministry of Defence leaflet that portrayed the missiles in delicate watercolours.
